Birding after Voting

Hooded Mergansers (Female)

As usual I’m behind on a programming project and it’s raining . . . so I couldn’t justify an early morning birding outing.  But today is Election Day and I couldn’t help but scoot over to nearby Fort Edgecomb for 15 minutes of birding.

As soon as I got out of the car . . . I saw a White-crowned Sparrow; then a Merlin screeched (never heard that before); some Bufflehead’s flew by; a couple female Hooded Mergansers swam by; and a couple Great Blue Herons posed.

Not a bad 15 minutes.
