I work with a fellow birder who happens to live outside of London, England. Many a conference calls begin or end with Ethan and Steve exchanging bird stories.
Today I was bragging to my British associate about the Little Egret I had seen early this morning. Steve related that they are bring seen in greater numbers in England and one is hanging out near our office in Reading.
The Little Egret in the USA is another story. Only one sighting was reported before 1980 . . . and since then a just handful of sightings. But interestingly enough, many sighting have been around Portland, Maine.

Also got a couple other FOY birds . . . an Eastern Meadowlark and a Carolina Wren.
