Cedar Waxwing

Cedar Waxing

Today we had the annual “cemetery meeting”, where my family discusses the up keep of a community cemetery in my mom’s hometown.  Of course on the way home we stopped at a few of our favorite spots  . . . a pasture on the family farm and pond in Dresden.  While we saw no new “First of the Year ” birds . . . but lots of great views and photos, highlighted by a flock of Cedar Waxwings in Dresden.

The Maine State Bird . . . the Black Fly was out in force.  Ingrid got driven back to the car on both visits.  I of course am much tougher . . . and stood up to the insect on-slaughter for at least an extra minute.
